Kodak and Motorola Team Up for Redefine the Mobile Imaging Experience with ZN5



BEIJING, CHINA - 23 June 2008; Motorola and Kodak, the world’s foremost imaging innovator, announced their first world class innovation, MOTOZINE ZN5. John Blake, general manager digital capture and imaging devices group, vice president Eastman Kodak Company said about their new MOTOZINE that,

"KODAK Imaging Technology combines Kodak’s unparalleled experience in imaging science with easy connectivity to the company’s vast portfolio of products and services. We have redefined the quality, convenience and connectivity of mobile imaging devices. We have worked closely with Motorola to create a device that not only delivers Kodak-quality pictures, but allows consumers to explore a wide range of options for sharing their photos with friends and family around the world."

Motorola ZN5 features a 5 megapixel autofocus camera and a lot of Kodak software inside to make it very easy to use as well as keep image quality levels high. The Kodak Imaging Technology brings features like noise reduction, sensor defect detection, and white balance to the mix. The ZN5 is also capable of shooting in RAW image format.

The MOTOZINE ZN5 is a smartphone based on the Linux OS and runs on a Freescale 500MHz processor. The quad band GSM phone will also serve up hot heaping Wi-Fi, allowing the handset to interface with the online Kodak Gallery. There’s also GSM radio, EDGE, and a feature called "ModeShift" which re-aligns buttons based on the application.



Motorola ZN5’s 950mAh battery has a long life and supports up to 9.5 hours of talk time or 3.5 weeks of standby time. It makes use of a QVGA display that goes into landscape orientation when the camera is activated, and the phone’s 3.5mm audio jack also does double duty with a TV out for seeing photos. ZN5 weighs only 114g.

Jeremy Dale, corporate vice president, mobile devices marketing, Motorola, Inc, said that "Today’s creative consumers not only want to be the photographer, but also the retoucher, the exhibitor and the critic. The MOTOZINE ZN5 lets them be all the things they want to be."
