HTC H2 : Monster 4.3 Inch Diaplay Featured Filled Smartphone Makes its Debut in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, 19 November- The HTC HD2 was announced yesterday, the first Windows Mobile 6.5 mobile phone. The HD2 has a monster 4.3 inch capacitive touch display and a medley of features fitting into a thin body.

The new Windows Mobile 6.5 is on the HD2, and with the lacklustre reviews, we’d really hope HTC will allow an Android mod very soon in this amazing device. HTC’s own UI –the SENSE, which promised customisation, social networking and improved UI experience. The device is supporting multitouch, so you can pinch webpages and photos.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 1GHz
mobile processor

, and 512MB ROM and 448MB. Connectivity wise, there’s a quad-band GSM connectivity 850/950/1800/1900 MHz, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps. There’s also Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. The HD2 can also be converted into a Wi-Fi router, forgot having to sit down in a Starbucks, when you can provide connectivity to everyone in the room.

HTC HD2 hits O2 stores in UK and Celluloco.com Attends to All of Its PreOrders!

HTC HD2 has hit the shelves of O2 stores in the UK. We can hardly believe it, but HD2 is the first HTC-branded phone to be sold on O2 as they had their re-branded XDA line running in parallel to HTC own products. Well, better late than never as they say.

Having tested it quite recently, we're pretty confident in saying this is a great choice for the first HTC-made phone to keep its branding (for O2 that is). The HD2 is some of the finest work by the Taiwanese manufacturer.

To recap the specifications of the HTC HD2 quickly, its defining feature is the 4.3" WQVGA touchscreen, which puts it at the edge of one hand usability. Oh, and it's important to mention this is the first capacitive touchscreen for WinMo. The HD2 has an impressively thin bezel around the screen and the whole phone measures in at 120.5 x 67 x 11 mm and 157 grams.

Tucked underneath that monster of a screen is a monster of computation - a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and 448MB RAM. This fancy hardware is adorned with the latest effort from HTC to make the ultimate interface for Windows Mobile. It's called Sense UI and while more similar to TouchFLO than the UI of the HTC Hero, the focus on social networking integration that was so pervasive in the Android version of Sense UI is here.

The rest of the features aren't as extreme as the screen size and CPU speed, but they round of the HTC HD2 pretty well. Except for the video playback and recording, which were underwhelming. For more details, check out the test we ran for the review.

The HTC HD2 is available for free on contract and it's available in retail stores

HTC HD2 shows up with a very strong spec sheet

It's finally here folks! After dozens of leaks over the past two weeks the HTC HD2 is finally officially revealed coinciding with today's launch of Windows Mobile 6.5. From where we stand the wait was more than worth it - the device will certainly top the WinMo food chain. Most of the rumors received turned out true but there are some nice surprises too.

The HTC HD2 is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and sports the nice 448 MB of RAM. Running on Windows Mobile 6.5 it relies on a 4.3-inch display of WVGA resolution for its operation.

As if that wasn't exciting enough, the HD2 is also the first WinMo handset to feature a capacitive touchscreen, instead of the resistive units we have seen so far - perhaps that was exactly what was meant by Windows 7http://www.celluloco.com/home.php ready in the yesterday's leak.

The HTC Sense UI, which comes preinstalled on top of the OS, is obviously here to iterate on the popular TouchFLO 3D and should make sure that all interface elements are large enough to be used with fingers only.

The network connectivity capabilities of the HTC HD2 are splendid, the handset coming with quad-band GSM support and dual band UMTS with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA. Wi-Fi and GPS are also on board as well as the usual suspects Bluetooth and USB.

On the multimedia front the 11mm-slim HTC HD2 has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera and a standard 3.5mm audio jack to offer. The list of nice features of this powerhouse is completed by a built-in accelerometer and proximity sensorhttp://www.celluloco.com/home.php.

O2 divulges pictures of the yet announced HTC HD2 & Celluloco.com is all over it!

HTChttp://www.celluloco.com HD2 just can't stop peeping out from all possible corners. This time though the HD2 is officially revealed in an O2 retail catalog in an ad, which is warming the scene for an expected UK release on 12 October.

You surely remember the first time we saw the HTC Leo, only to to surface again later on as HTC Pro Three and finally revealing its true marketing name of HTC HD2 - losing the Touch branding of its original somewhere along the way.

The 4.3-inch monstrous HD2 is driven by 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU accompanied by 320MB RAM and 512MB ROM. All connectivity options you can think of are on board along with a 5 megapixelhttp://www.celluloco.com snapper and a 1230 mAh battery - and it seems quite thin as well.
