Celluloco.com Nears its Release Date of HTC Hero (G2 Touch) as U.K. T-Mobile Unveils the mobile on its European shelves

http://www.celluloco.com/home.php

So here it goes - the carrier customized version of the HTC Hero will be available in less than 24 hours to T-Mobile customers in the United Kingdom. In a message on Twitter the carrier team announced that the handset will appear in the online store from tomorrow with real stores following over the next few days.

The HTC Hero is best-equipped Android handset to date (until the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 shows up anyway) and will go by the name of T-Mobile G2 Touch.

Just as their direct competitor Orange (the other major carrier to offer the HTC Hero), T-Mobile UK will allow their users to get the G2 Touch for free. To qualify for that Andorid-lovers will have to sign an 18-month 40 pound-a-month contract.

Unfortunately for our American friends T-Mobile USA has no plans to follow suit and will not offer the G2 Touch anytime soon.

Samsung prepping a 3G Fest for T-Mobile in 2009

http://www.celluloco.com/home.php

It's not clear how people manage to score so many good pictures of phones that aren't scheduled for announcement -- much less release -- for months, but who are we to complain? Some crafty dude over on TmoNews' forums is showing off much of Samsung's 2009 lineup for T-Mobile, and the first fantastic bit of news here is that everything we're seeing is apparently 3G; that's a good sign that T-Mobile's confident enough about its AWS buildout to start transitioning its lineup to 3G en masse, and plump 3G lineups always makes us happy. Anyhow, we've got the Gravity 2 here your choice of red or orange, the 20-key t349 candybar, and that's not all we've got for you QWERTY and half-QWERTY fans -- there's an unnamed clamshell here (pictured) that'll be available in two colors. Finally, there's a supposedly low-cost full touchscreen device looking a little bit like a cross between a Cookie and an Instinct s30 that's running TouchWiz and features a 3 megapixel camera. No Android stuff here, though the lucky poster says that he believes the device will be the i7500 and won't be available until November -- a bummer if true.

T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009

http://www.celluloco.com/home.php

T-Mobile's Sidekicks have been cult favorites stretching all the way back to the original grayscale model -- a device with a design only a mother could love, may we add -- when it launched nearly seven years ago. Though the unusual form factor with the addictive spring-loaded pivoting swivel has largely prevented it from attracting a mainstream audience, the countless teens and twenty-somethings who've latched on to the Hiptop ecosystem have cited many of the same reasons for loving it since day one: an easy, foolproof UI, push email, high-quality customizability, decent web browsing capabilities, and a stellar messaging-optimized layout (remember that QWERTY was little more than a twinkle in most manufacturers' eyes back in 2002).

T-Mobile to Unleash Visual Voice Mail.....

Newly-leaked projected training and launch dates on T-Mobile are revealing a treasure trove of goodies for the summer months, not the least of which seems to be a visual voicemail system -- a trend already validated by AT&T's and Verizon's past and future launches -- expected on July 16, though it's not clear what devices are lined up to get it. On the hardware front, we're getting some much-needed validation on dates we've already heard: we've got the Dash 3G (alias Snap, alias S522) in the mix for July 1, the 8 megapixel Sony Ericsson CS8 slider for June 24 (and its kid brother, the CS5, for July 8), and the HTC Rhodium / Touch Pro2 for July 22. We've also got a couple "hero" Samsungs listed in here, though we're fairly certain they're not Android devices -- Houdini, where are you?

Android “cupcake” 1.5 has arrived for T-Mobile G1s

http://www.celluloco.com/home.php

All through the night we received reports from ecstatic T-Mobile G1 users who have been letting us know the Android “cupcake” 1.5 update has been pushed out by T-Mobile. We checked ourselves and this is indeed the case but as some kind readers pointed out to us, customized ROMs can completely thwart a G1’s ability to receive the update notification. It’s not a hard fix to remove those cooked ROMs, so if you want to get your official cupcake on you know what to do. Oh, and let us know how it goes.

T-Mobile Sidekick LX gets a new upgraded 2009 version

http://www.celluloco.com/home.php

T-Mobile announced an upgrade of their Sidekick LX from 2007 - it's called... well, Sidekick LX. The 2009 edition has a beefier display, 3G connectivity, GPS chip, 3.2 megapixel camera and updated OS.

The renewed T-Mobile Sidekick LX sports a 3.2-inch WVGA display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, microSD expansion slot (1GB card in the box), 3G support and built-in GPS receiver. The handset will also be noticeably thinner than its hefty predecessor, but follows the same design - though now it's also got a bigger battery.

The Sidekick LX has an updated Danger OS, which is now tightly integrated with all popular social networks such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Photobucket.

The Sidekick LX 2009 is expected to hit the shelves on 13 May in T-Mobile USA network as far as we know.

Huawei's Android smartphone is the future T-Mobile G3

t's true. The Android powered Huawei phone, which was mysteriously shown during the MWC 2009, turns out to be the next T-Mobile G3. Full pack connectivity, smallish design and 5 megapixel camera are some of the key features in its spec list.

Huawei indeed presented their smartphone at the MWC 2009, but only behind glass and its was more of a design dummy than anything else. There were no official presentations or a full specs sheet.

As far as rumors have it, however, the mysterious smartphone will be marketed and sold as T-Mobile G3.

The T-Mobile G3

The smartphone sports a huge capacitive touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera, 3G networks support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 3.5mm audio jack and of course it will run on the latest Android. There will be no physical keyboard.

The T-Mobile G3 is expected to be released some time in Q3 2009. No word on pricing or more detailed specs yet.

T-Mobile plans Android-based home devices

T-Mobile, which already sells a cellphone based on Android, the T-Mobile G1, plans to sell a home phone early next year and a mini-computer, the newspaper said, citing confidential documents obtained from an unnamed T-Mobile partner.

It said the phone will plug into a docking station and come with a device that handles data synchronization as it recharges the phone?s battery.

The small tablet computer would have a touchscreen but no external keyboard. It could handle basic computing jobs like checking the weather or managing data across devices in the home, the Times said.

A T-Mobile spokesman confirmed to the newspaper that the company had plans for several devices based on Android but declined to discuss specifics.

T-Mobile, the fourth-largest US wireless carrier after AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, began selling the G1, which is made by Taiwan's HTC, in August.

Google hopes the free Linux-based Android software powering the G1 will eventually become the dominant operating system for mobile phones.

Android competes with cellphone operating systems made by Apple, Microsoft, Nokia and other companies but its usage has been expanding to include computers and other devices.

Leading US computer maker Hewlett-Packard said last week it is studying the possibility of building machines based on Android operating systems.

News that T-Mobile and HP are exploring ways to put Android to work in computers indicates the operating system may be shaping up as a contender in a market long-dominated by Windows software made by Google's rival Microsoft.

Approximately nine of every 10 computers in the world run on Windows operating systems.

T-Mobile release dates leak, along with Sony Ericsson CS8 Cyber-shot

A dozen of expected T-Mobile phones just got their launch dates thanks to some leaked info that was posted online. Alongside with already announced handsets such as HTC Magic, Snap and Touch Pro2 (called Wing 2 in T-Mo networks), a couple of new phones were also mentioned for the first time.

Sony Ericsson CS8 Cyber-shot popped up for the first time - it's rumored to run on Android OS and will have 8.1 megapixel snapper.

The leaked T-Mobile release dates include most of the popular HTC smartphones, a bunch of Samsungs, Nokia 1661 and the Sony Ericsson's Cyber-shot CS8.

http://www.celluloco.com/home.php

Let's take a look on the list:

  • "Blade" - May 13th (a.k.a. Sidekick 2009)

  • HTC Snap - July 1st (a.k.a. HTC Maple)

  • HTC Wing II - July 22nd (a.k.a. Touch Pro 2 or HTC Rhodium)

  • HTC Magic - To be announced (a.k.a. T-Mobile G2 or HTC Sapphire)

  • Sony Ericsson CS8 - June 24th

  • Nokia 1661 (prepaid) - April 29th

  • Samsung T349 (prepaid) - May 6th

  • Samsung T239 (prepaid) - May 13th

  • Samsung T559 - July 15th

  • Samsung T469 - July 15th

  • Samsung T749 - July 22nd

  • Samsung T659 - August 19th

As you can see most of the phones will be released in July, the yet unannounced Sidekick 2009 and the prepaid Samsungs in May. The Sony Ericsson CS8 is expected in the end of June, which seems quite soon considering the fact it hasn't been announced yet.

As it's also obvious from the list - there is no confirmation of the T-Mobile G2 yet (a.k.a. HTC Magic).

Yesterday, new WAP profiles were discovered by SEMC Blog on the Sony Ericsson website. They reveal two new Cyber-shot handsets. The first one is the mentioned CS8, while the second device is CS5 - unfortunately, beside the name there is no other info available.

Surely the new additions to the Cyber-shots will be announced in the next few months and then we could tell you more about the specs sheets.
