Sony Ericsson has announced the launch of the W705 Walkman phone, a slider handset with an aluminum-crafted and a 2.4 inch screen, and Wireless Home Audio System MBS 900 today in conjunction with the MTV Europe Music Awards where Sony Ericsson is one of the main sponsors. Sony Ericsson W705 is a high-end slider that is the first music-dedicated feature phone by Sony Ericsson to feature Wi-Fi.
The Sony Ericsson W705 comes with a large 2.4" QVGA display capable of showing up to 256K colors. Some of its more important features include a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio with RDS, Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support. It also has automatic rotation that switch the phone from portrait to landscape with just a tilt of the phone. Using Wi-Fi to connect to broadband network, you can use your W705 to go online for the best songs or most popular YouTube video clips or stream tunes wirelessly to the stylish MBS 900 speaker via Bluetooth.
The W705 includes some walkman features like the music recognition application TrackID and SensMe, as well as the Shake control to change tracks with the flick of your hand. With clear bass, clear stereo and premium headphones, Sony Ericsson says the W705 delivers a sound that has crystal clear clarity and is dynamic, rich and natural. For the huge amount of music storage W705 will come with 120 MB of internal memory that can be expanded through the M2 card slot (4GB memory card included).
Sony Ericsson W705 and the wireless home audio system MBS 900 will be available in selected markets from Q1 2009 in the colors luxury silver and passionate red. And the Sony Ericsson W705u, exclusive to Orange, will be available from Q1 2009.
