Kuala Lumpur, 7 Nov- The Touch HD was announced yesterday and we got a hands-on session the coveted device. The specs are as we reported a huge 3.8’ inch TFT LCD touch-sensitive screen with 280x 800 WVGA, WinMo 6.1, Wi-Fi, and HSDPA with quad-band connectivity. Expect GPS here too. The UI has also shown improvement as well.
WinMo is much smoother this time around, with a Qualcomm MSM 7201 528MHz, with 512MB ROM and 288MB RAM under the hood. It’s slightly on the heavy side at 147g and quite difficult to pocket but the 3.8 inch screen totally makes up for it.
Now HTC is claiming up to a whopping 7 hours talk time for the Touch HD, the standby time goes up to 630 hours.
The Touch 3G was also announced and is another upgrade to the original Touch. The main improvements of the 3G version include a 3.2 megapixel fixed-focus camera, 3G with HSDPA, as well as 192 MB of RAM.
The Touch 3G looks a lot sleeker than the original Touch, thinner and taller too. The quad-band Touch 3G has a 2.8 inch display of QVGA resolution and runs on a 528 MHz Qualcomm CPU. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and a microSD card slot. HTC Touch 3G also has the latest version of the TouchFLO UI – the TouchFLO 3D - and AGPS.
