The KS500 from LG surfaces the Internet with optical touchpad

The latest LG KS500 is a true follower of the older KS200 model but it’s not a smartphone. The KS500 is a tri-band GSM phone that offers dual-band UMTS/HSDPA support and measuring 102.8 x 49.2 x 14.9 mm that represents a big size. It comes with slider form factor and boasts an optical touchpad, GPS Navigator, a 3 Megapixel camera with fixed focus, a TFT QVGA display supporting 262K colors, a GPS receiver with Yahoo! Go maps application, 100 MB internal memory and support for 8GB microSD memory card and Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately it has no operating system.

The entertainment features are pretty good. The media player supports all major kinds of media format. And by using 8GB memory card users can store more.

The first handset by the South Korean company to feature an optical touchpad has no price tag yet, but judging by the way it looks and the specs it features, it should be cheap. Also there is no information available about its official launching date.
