Samsung J800, L700 and L870 are Mid end handsets those look goo

It looks like the folks at Samsung are keeping the fires burning with a batch of new Mid-end handsets (Samsung J800 Luxe, Samsung L700 and Samsung L870) announced at the Singapore Telecommunications Exhibition.


Though the first one’s name is Samsung J800 Luxe but "Luxe" sounds a bit misleading as there is nothing luxurious about the handset. It is a mid-range handset that looks pretty elegant, both when closed and when its alphanumeric sliding keypad is revealed. When closed, the J800 measures 99.5 x 47 x 15 millimeters and overall, it looks really nice for a mid-end phone. It packs with a TFT display of 2.2 inches and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, tri-band GSM connectivity plus HSDPA, Google search integration, full HTML browser, RSS reader, document viewer, Bluetooth 2.0, Media player, microSD slot, POP3/IMAP4 mail and Mobile Tracker. The Samsung J800 Luxe also features a 2 megapixel camera without any auto-focus unfortunately, but it does feature photo blog which allow image uploading to blogs over 3G.

The slider will soon be available across Asia, Europe, Africa and South America, coming for an estimated retail price of less than $400 (255 Euros).


At first sight, L700 might appear as a high-end device but it is the second new midrange bar-type handset presented by Samsung. This cell phone smoothly blends style with features. The L700 is relatively thin and measures only 109 x 46 x 12.8 millimeters. It sports a metal body and is decorated with the Samsung Company’s hairline pattern. The uniquely designed keypad allows the users to dial and navigate easily. The quad-band L700 also offers UMTS support. Unfortunately, this phone has an average 2.1-inch 256K TFT display with the mere resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. Besides this rather basic display, the L700 also comes with 2 Megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording, Bluetooth 2.0, POP3/IMAP4 email client, Media player, FM radio, front camera for video calls, HTML browser, office document viewer and expandable memory.

The Samsung L700 will be released in silver, pink, and gold variations colors and it will come into the market of Europe sometime in July, after which it will get launched in the markets across Middle East, Southwest and Southeast Asia. No pricing details of Samsung L700 yet.

Finally, Samsung L870 is powered by the same Symbian OS and user interface as all Nokia N-series Smartphones. The L870 has tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support plus HSDPA for fast wireless data transfers. It also offers up a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus, FM radio, Bluetooth, USB, 100MB internal memory and microSD expansion slot (capacity of up to 4GB). But unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi. The Samsung L870 should be available in August in Europe. Pricing is yet unknown however.
